As of 1 January 2017, Interport B.V., with locations at Schiphol and Barcelona, has been acquired by Van Duuren of Vianen.

Interport has more than 25 years’ experience in transport to and from Spain and Portugal, and provides scheduled services with guaranteed departure and arrival times for a number of European countries. With their high-security box trailers Interport operates especially in transporting high-value and urgent loads such as airfreight, high-tech and pharmaceutical goods. Interport’s clients experience an on-time delivery performance of no less than 99.2%. Interport is ISO, TAPA and AEO certified.

As a pan-European logistics services provider Van Duuren, with their finely woven network, is active in 39 countries. Their client base is increasing, this to a large extent in carrying retail and high-tech goods. The acquisition of Interport means that Van Duuren can take advantage of Interport’s experience in the areas of security and tracking systems, and also gradually expand Interport’s geographical area of activity.

Both Interport and Van Duuren are family businesses, with the strong cultures and core values that are characteristic of such companies. Wilma Bram, founder and owner of Interport, explains the motivation behind the sale to Van Duuren as follows: “After 25 years of hard work I have reached the age at which I believe it is important to secure the continuity of my company, the security of our employees and the service to our clients within another family concern. I did have a number of options, but right from the first contact with Jeroen and Jasper van Duuren I felt that they were the best choice. In the longer term Van Duuren intends to shift some of their activities to Interport and carry the business forward as independently as possible.”

Jeroen van Duuren: “Interport offers us unique opportunities to consolidate our service in the highest quality and service-critical segments, and this development also gives us the chance of expanding our own fleet of trailers in a swifter and more efficient manner. Furthermore, in Eric de Wit, who will succeed Wilma Bram as managing director of Interport, we have someone with 25 years’ managerial experience in European road transport. We have every confidence that the combination of the two family companies will give us the opportunity to realize our ambitious targets as regards growth.”
