Van Duuren strengthens network at Transport Logistic Munich

This year, a large delegation from Van Duuren was at the principal logistics trade fair in Europe: Transport Logistic in Munich. Jeroen van Duuren looks back with great satisfaction at the fair. Just as happened on the last occasion, the diaries were full from the first to the last hour of the exhibition. “In three days I had 30 appointments in my diary, and there were an additional 14 unplanned meetings,” he recalls. “Each of those meetings was exceptionally worthwhile. We were able to evaluate and build on our partnerships.”

Van Duuren works continually at strengthening the network, and the meetings at the fair produce some concrete results, says Jeroen van Duuren. “Sometimes these results are unexpected. We even had contact with someone from a company in Teheran talking about a weekly service to Iran. But we were also able to take some good steps forward for our existing destinations. For example, we are going to improve our service to Eastern Europe by increasing the frequency to a number of countries, including Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro, Albania and Kosovo. We are going to have more direct destinations in Germany and we shall also start a 48-hour service to Austria. In Scandinavia and Poland the collaboration will be intensified, as a result of which we shall have more frequent departures for these regions. And the collaboration with our French partner will be more intensive in areas in addition to the current areas of Lille, Paris, Tours and Lyon where we already have a very intensive partnership.”

An extremely valuable few days, concludes Jeroen van Duuren. “In the world of logistics it’s all about human contact. It is for this reason that a number of colleagues and I visit our European partners in order to build on our partnerships. A trade fair such as that in Munich is therefore an ideal complement and a perfect opportunity to take a large number of steps forward in a short time.”
