On 5 October more than 40 teams set out on the Supply Chain Classic Car Rally, travelling through the beautiful countryside of North Limburg and Nettetal in Germany. Three ‘Van Duurens’, Marco, Niek and Marcel took part in the car rally.

This rally sponsors a charity each year; this year a charity to help the fight against brain tumours, STOPhersentumoren benefited from the more than 5,500 euros raised. We, together with a number of other companies, sponsored this exceptional event: Arcta Group, Slimstock, Toyota Material Handling, Van Duuren, Rhenus Logistics, Van Berlo bedrijfsvloeren, Inther, Unibouw, Celectric and Next Level.

Some participants in this jubilee edition – this was the rally’s tenth anniversary – showed themselves to be real ‘classic car fanatics’ and drove their own cars. During the rally the participants had to carry out a variety of assignments, with which they could gain points. Ultimately the winners were Roelof Overbeek and Cees de Maar in the Porsche 911. The prize for the best classic car went to the team of Pim Rongen and John Jelsma, in a Triumph TR3.
