Van Duuren takes over the activities of Forel Logistiek BV

With effect from 1 January 2019 Van Duuren will take over all the activities and the personnel of Forel BV. Both companies have worked together intensively for a considerable number of years. Forel occupies itself with the warehousing activities of Van Duuren, with the loading and unloading of international scheduled freight services and the delivery of goods in the national distribution system.

Jeroen van Duuren explains: ‘With the takeover of Forel we are doing some insourcing instead of outsourcing. By bringing these activities within the organization we will enhance the quality of our services. I see this step as a logical expansion of our organization and a step forward towards further professionalization.’

The links between Van Duuren and Arie Smit, founder and owner of Forel go back more than 50 years. For a long time Smit had himself worked for Van Duuren prior to starting his own company. He is very happy with this step: ‘I am now at an age when I must think about the future continuity of Forel. I would like to carry on working for a while, but I do want to give our personnel the sense of security that our company will have a good future, even when, in the longer term, I leave the organization.’

Jeroen van Duuren: ‘After many years of hard work Arie is handing over Forel as a fantastic company. In their core values there are a large number of great similarities between both the family businesses of Forel and Van Duuren. It is therefore our intention to carry on the activities without any major changes. For example, Arie will continue to be responsible for the operations for the coming 18 months.’

With this takeover there will be 12 new warehouse personnel in service at Van Duuren, and the transport fleet will be expanded by 20 vehicles and drivers.
